hi
as you can read in my post further down the page i just recently created my first SVCD... i was very pleased with the results and still am but there turned out to be a small problem:
i just wanted to watch a special scene on my standalone and discovered that the chapters i set every 120 seconds (fixed chapters) were not there, or at least not usable on my standalone... this is quite annoying as fast forwarding on my standalone is awfully slow ):
i know i can't do anything about it since i already burnt the stuff to cd... but for future projects: what did i do wrong... unfortunately i already removed all the files dvd2svcd gave me so the log file is gone too.

regards & thanks for your help

Without a log there is no way to know what you did.

If you still have the BIN/CUE files on the hard drive mount them using Daemon Tools and see if you have chapters using WinDVD or PowerDVD.

If you did not burn the Cue file and only the mpg's you will not have chapters.

Do another encode and try again. This time do not erase the files before you test it. It is too hard to speculate.

You should also check your DVD player to see if it supports SVCD chapters at vcdhelp.

ok thanks for your help
i did burn the iso files so that is not the problem... also i'm going to see if i got chapters in a software dvd player...
also going to check vcdhelp.com

anyway i'll probably do another encode overnight and post the log file here if the problem persists

PS: i did test the files (mounting with daemon tools) and they were working... just forgot to check the chapters (:

Hello!

Maybe PBC (play back control) isnīt activated at your standalone. For most models you can activate it by pressing the "menu" - button on your remote.
Sometimes itīs as simple as that ;).
