Hello there. Even though this is my first post in
the forums I have been creating DivX movies since
the DivX 3.11 Alpha codec was released.
I've recently started using the Alpha release of DVDtoOgm 1.2
to create my DivX movies. Even though this program was designed for
making Ogm files you can use it as a very simple method to create
your two pass avi and encode your audio to mp3 or ogg. I personally
prefer making 2 CD DivX movies with AC3 sound.
In DVDtoOgm I select 2 CD as file size add my AC3 track and select just
mux audio. Then when you Save and Encode you can just deselect Mux
Video and Audio and Delete Intermediate files, which will leave you
with the avi which when manually joined in VirtualDudMod will be the
required size.
I know everyone seems to be using AviMux, but after trying many
different settings it still wouldn't work for me. After muxing the same
avi + ac3 in AviMux and VirtualDubMod I checked them in DivFix and the
AviMux always produced errors, but not the other one.
So I would like to thank DVD for his excellent work thus far. Even
though it is based on GordanKnot it is easier to use.
