Hi,

Not reallt sure if this is the right place to post, but here goes...

I've just got a wedding video from my friend & on the dvd when the end credits appear, there is a womans voice talking over them. What i'm trying to do is re-author this dvd so that when I put everything back together it will still be in sync etc.

The best way I can think of is to just dub some silence over the womans voice. Is this possible? how would I acheieve it?

Thanx in advance

The easiest way i can think of is to copy the dvd as you would any other, but you're gonna have to decode the audio to a wave file. Then deal with the audio in a wave editor(there's many good free ones out there, EAC having the one that I personally use). You should be able to select the portion of audio that you'd like to silence, then apply a gain of neg infinity, or some programs have a "silence" setting. Then take that wave and encode it to whatever format you need for the copy.

Of course, the quality of the audio will be degraded because of the decode/reencode, so you may want to seriously consider just turning the volume down when you're watching the dvd.

thanx for the reply. I didnt realise about the audio quality decreasing :( I thought there was an app that would directly edit an ac3 file.

Looks like i'll just have to live with the dvd as it is
