Hi, Blight,
Is there any chance that zoom player could play RM??

probably not, at least not until realmedia decide to release a directshow filter (if ever).

hmm i find it a bit strange that i have to pay for dvd playback, as zoomplayer does not even provide its own dvd playback files.
that means if i want to use zoomplayer to watch dvds i have to pay for 2 products...
apart from the fact that zoomplayer is worth being payed for... but all in all version 2.9 and 3.x do not differ much, which makes me wonder for the reasons that sudden.

Best ZoomPlayer ever!!! I just have a question about subs, although this problem arises in every player. After your fix (thank you nowol for posting in the inmatrix forum), I can switch OGM Audio streams with control-A and finally sub streams with ctrl-B. When switching to the first sub, it appears after some time. Switching to the second, it changes after some time. Switching back to the first sub (the player goes over _subtitle off_), the first sub doesn't appear if you don't seek the file (forward or backward). NoWoL said it's an ogm problem. My question is just: why does it work when switching from first sub to the second, but doesn't work when going over _subtitle off_?
Best regards,
JimiK

Well, software developement costs us - software developers - a lot of money  ... good hosting doesn't come cheap and in the end everybody deserves few bucks for living ;)

why not making everyone pay then....
to make ppl pay that want to watch dvds is senseless in my eyes, as zoomplayer does not provide its own way to decode dvds.
i mean telling ppl they have to pay for a special function is ok.. but it should be implented then. Zoomplayer does not so. it only uses 3rd party software to do the job.
just my 2c.
i still think zoomplayer is worth the money. but the dvdpart alone isnt.

Rasi:
I ask for $20, the filters cost about $15. $35 for a DVD player isn't the end of the world. The reason I haven't bundled ZP with a specific decoder is ... most people already have one. Decoders now come dime a dosen (they come pre-installed with computers, with DVD-Rom drives, with display cards, etc...). People prefer to mix & match filters (a lot of people seem to like the cinemaster video decoder along with the windvd audio decoder). Having a smart front-end with flexability to use any decoder is what ZP is best at.
As far as differences between v2.90 and 3.0. The change file is nearly 30kb long. That's 1/10th of moby dick.
The biggest difference being the new Graphless Point & Click configuration dialog.
I don't think you appriciate the work that goes into a smart user interface.

@Rasi:
blight has the right to charge for any part of his great player. if you don't like it, then don't pay. if you have a better pricing scheme, you may kindly suggest it. but the bottom line is that that's his choice.

of course it is.
and i also said that the player is worth its money.
well my reasons are above.. take someone with win98 (which has no preinstalled dvd filters) so he would have to pay for another product like powerdvd to use the function.
and i agree, most ppl do this anyway. still i think it would be fair for those who dont have legal 3rd party dvd filters to include one native into zoom.. not as a mustuse, but as a choice...
i think you get the point...

Is there any chance Zoom player would be able to load external subtitles for DVD?

@Rasi last time i checked when i bought a dvd drive it came with dvd software to play dvd's (PowerDVD to be exact) which then ZoomPlayer would then use these filters. So basically if they have a DVD Drive and any os then they should have a dvd program. if the drive was given to them then well they should of gotten the software with it also other wise even without zoomplayer it would be useless to yea.

kxy:
you're right, chapter listing doesn't seem to work for about half the OGM files I have here, I'll fix it for RC2.
