Just wanted to install some browsers other than IE to check a few html sites - then something really weird happened: Opera 7.3 doesn't start after installation. I doubleclick the icon (or the .exe itself) and nothing happens. Just nothing!
Then I tried to install Mozilla 1.3 - it won't install and gives me some error message before it just quits.
WTF????

I am currently running both of those on an XP SP1 system, so yep they do work.
Don't know about the Opera problem. But how about supplying a few more details (like the actual error messages), so that maybe someone will be able to help you.

OK, I just solved the Mozilla problem while trying to re-create the error message...
My programs directory is changed to "H:\" so programs will always try to install to "H:\\" by default. About 98% of all programs just manage to interpret "H:\\" as "H:\", but 2% will crash until you manually enter "H:\" (without the second backslash). Mozilla is one of these programs...
Opera doesn't give me any error messages. It just won't start without any comments.

Ah, the age old "app that assumes too much about your system setup" problem.
