which are the formats to play vcd on dvd-player?

could somebody please tell me which sizes (352x288 is the only one i know) i can use to convert my .avis to mpg, so that i can watch them on my dvd-player on tv? i have a PAL player and i convert with tmpeg.
or is 352x288 the only supported size for dvd-players?

Two suggestions: 1) Click on Doom9's Format Conversion (http://www.doom9.org/conversionguides.htm) guides. You'll find a couple of guides for AVI->VCD. 2) Click on www.vcdhelp.com for both video/audio format information for all the VCD variants, and also, to check what formats and media are supported by your DVD player.
