hi, i've been trying to capture at this resolution and would appreciate any help.
my system is xp2000+, winxp, 512 ram, 120gig special edition, leadtek 2000xp capture card (using latest leadtek drivers), santa cruz sound card. i have a wintv go i could use if necessary. source video is vcr or cable tv.
generally i would like to use avi_io. it's the only program i've been able to use that gives no audio sync problems after 2 hours of capturing. but it won't let me use higher resolutions than 320x240.
1) anyone with this card and btwincap drivers able to get higher res with avi_io? i ask first because i'm not able to get them to install (program crashes windows to blue screen during installation). so if these drivers work, i'd like to know first before trying harder to get drivers installed, or even reinstalling windows.
2) i've tried iuvcr which works well, except that it doesn't lock frame rate. i set to 29.970, but captures always end up a little off at 29.971 or something like that. this is problem when joining files. question is if there's way to change framerate without losing audio sync when converting to divx? (tpmpg is really good at changing frame rate when converting to mpg). but using virtual dub is always off for me.
3) what i've been doing in mean time is capturing at 320x240 at 19 quality using picvideo mjpg, then resizing to 512x384. is it even worth capturing at larger size? will there be quality difference if i captured at 640x480.
