I ripped "Scent of the Woman" with DVD Decryptor in ISO READ Mode. Mount the image using daemon tools. When i try to playback this image with PowerDVD or real player. In both cases i got still picture with "You can not play this DVD in region you live". Don't know what causes this problem, ripped a lot of DVDs and watch from hdd using Daemon tools. But it is the first time i came across such a problem. Does anyone know what may cause this problem? Thanks in advance.

i think it's cause your dvd is a different region than your dvd-rom (duh! not making fun of you, just myself) ex: you can play ntsc region game on your PS1/2, but you can't play japanese imports, unless you have it modified, as far as i know.
ok, here's where i actually help you, download a program called "dvd genie" it changes the region of your dvd-rom to play other region (i think), but i remember there where some type of problem when using it (but that was by then) and then there's ifoedit, it has this button that makes the ifo region free, but i have no idea what it does? unless the name said it all.
also, can you play the dvd in your dvd-rom? i wasn't aware that realplayer could play dvds; but then again, i haven't been upgrading, or paying?
someone will probably give you a better answer; but they, i here now.

Have you set the region of the DAEMON Tools drive?
You can do it in the DT settings somewhere.

Dani82,
the strangest thing is that i can play this DVD with my DVD-ROM.
LIGHTNING UK!,
I already tried that one. Whatever region I set in Daemon tools i ended up with the same thing. Still image with the message.

Well this looks like RCE protection.
In theory, it should have been fixed / removed by my program.
Are you running 3.1.4.0?
Could you please send the IFO files from the original disc, and the ripped ISO file to the email address in the 'About' box of DVD Decrypter.
Cheers.

Ok, got the ifo's in the mail.
I've taken a look at them and indeed, RCE protection is present in the video_ts.ifo file.
The program would have patched it ok, but you didnt have it correctly configured in the settings.
When auto patching fails, it falls back to the 'RCE Protection Region' setting in the settings. You had it set to 1, but this DVD is only meant for region 2 players.
My program was therefore patching it to region 1 and hence on the compare:
If region (in this case 1 after patching) = 2 (regions the disc is allowed to be played in), then play the film.
otherwise, display the annoying 'cant play disc in this region' error message video.
Obviously 1 is never going to equal 2, so you just get the error message.

Thanks a lot LIGHTNING UK!
Never thought i would need that feature. All of the DVDs i tried before were region 2. Anyway, I just forced the DVD RCE Protection REgion 2 and now i can play the image.
