Heya's there, I had the fortune of recently purchasing a Sony DW U10A
drive (good price too). It's an internal drive, installed it with no problems that I could see. However, my system does not seem to read it as a DVD writer. In Nero, in the whole "new project" screen, the DVD option is not highlighted, though the CD option was. Prassi says "No compatible CD recorders detected" or some such. Imgtool says insert a CD when I hit burn, and ejects my current DVD-R. I've loaded stuff off the drive, so it would seem the physical installation was kosher. I was able to copy the contents of a DVD by simply dragging them to the DVD, but as that's totally improper it does me no good. If anymore info is required just say the word, thanks in advance.
Edit: Prassi actually says, "No CD or DVD drives have been found on this computer." But like I said, I can load CDs off the drive, other programs seem to view it as a CD writer. I installed the whole Pxengine update, no effect.
