Wanted share a good experience with the DV group (Hey, all ten of us :) )
I did a very boring 90 minute talking head of a guest speaker lecture at my wifes place of work. She requested SVCD and I rolled my eyes thinking of all the time and aggravation it was going to take to do. Frankly I just did not want to allocate the mind-space because, if I did it, I wanted it to be a high quality encode using two Cd's and a change disk placard at the end of Disk1. So, it was going to take a lot of time and steps to do it right.
Anyway to the point of the post, as I was headed for bed I used the new version of DVD2SVCD that supports ProCorder, Avisynth 2.5x and Link2. I did change the version of SimpleResize to a YV12 version as Dvd2svcd uses the Interlaced resize function from SimpleResize and I was using Avisynth 2.51.
I fed it the 18 gig DV (type2)file, selected the right settings and went to bed. This morning I had a very high quality 2 svcd set with a change CD placard at the end of Disk 1 and chapters every 2 minutes. The quality is just outstanding using ProCorder and is as good (probably better) than I could have done by hand.
Hmmm, now I get to collect my "incentives" without actually doing any work. Me a happy old man :)
