View Full Version : Dropped Frames and Sync messed up

I have this weird problem where whenever I capture I get a bunch of dropped frames and the sync is terrible. I can't even watch it. It does capture well when I use the Morgan MJPEG codec though. It seems that no other codec will properly capture. I can't even bump up the quality too much either before I start to get a lot of frame drops and the video is essentially useless. I'm not sure if this is a driver problem or software problem.

I'm using an AverTV Studio card, with their latest drivers (BTwincap seem to make my computer freeze) and I'm using iuVCR to capture. My os is XP Professional. I have a 40gb ATA100 hard drive, so I don't think transfer rates are the problem. I just don't understand why I'm dropping frames like this whenever I use any other codec. I tried the HuffyUV codec, and that didn't work.

From my understanding the HuffyUV codec is better to use over MJPEG, but I can't get it to work with my card. Any suggestions?

Try Virtual VCR from www.digtv.ws Make sure you check "Resample audio dynamicly" in the settings, this should keep audio in sync.

Also, install HuffYUV nad BTWinCAp drivers, they do work with AverTV Stereo, because I am using them right now.

Hi,

Or start with VDub Sync, you can get more information about "What can I do against drops ?" in the Capture FAq at the top of this forum section
