Need help burning

Hi
I can strip the dvd down using dvd decrypter and dvd2one and then i copy it using data disk on veritas and it copies fine and plays on my standalone players,but when i come to do a straight disc to disc copy with the disk i have burned it gets about 80% the way through and crashes saying that there may be scratches or finger prints on the disc when the disks are perfectly clean and brand new
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me ive been stuck with this for about 2 months now

When doing a discs to disc copy are you copying to the HDD first or are you trying to do on-the-fly disc to disc copy?

i have tried to copy both ways on the fly and to the hard drive first
