Hi

Fisrt of all thanks for the great job that you are doing here.
I am using DoItFast4U to do a DVD9 -> 1-DVD5 backup.
The DVD is The last of the Mohicans and it doesn't have any extras.

But,as you can see, it has a lot of garbage VTS. I am trying to follow the guide with Scenarist but that guide is based on Training Day with a LOT of extra. I am not sure if I can just skip a lot of that guide which relate to Extras.
Any input is appreciated.

Thanks
Hamid

I don't see how you can say that DVD doesn't have any extras. It seems to have 6 VTS of extras (VTS5 and VTS7 are the largest ones, at 15-20megs)! Just back it up normally, using the guide.

What an honor to have a response from Eyes :o

As a matter of fact those VTS are just logos for the studio and they don't have anything inside. The more important problem is since DIF4U ignores those VTS during its operation (they are less than 200MB) I don't have necessary files to reauthor them in Scnenarist.
Do you think I should set the threshold to 0 MB so everything gets demuxed.

Thanks

Those 'necessary files' are in your VIDEO_TS folder, if you selected "create VIDEO_TS" from your global options. You don't need to reauthor them of course, just use the ifo/bup/and vobs as they are. Enjoy :D

I have set that option in Global
So it means that after CCEing the main movie I can easily jump to the "main movie" part of the guide ? right ?

But how I am gonna tell Scenarist that I have some VTS5-7 ?

Thanks

Hmm.. keep reading the guides. You obviously haven't read all the way thru!

hrg27,

You simply don't "tell" Scenarist you have some VTS 5-7. Scenarist won't give a damn about it. By selecting the "create VIDEO_TS for unused data" option in DIF4U, you generated all required files already.
Just use scenarist for authoring the VTS that were above 200MB.

In the end, you'll just have to copy over the reauthored Vobs to the VIDEO_TS folder created by DIF4U, and use IFOUpdate to update all original IFOs in the VIDEO_TS folder from your reauthored IFOs.
See the guides (trilight and others) about how to use IFOUPdate.

In the end the VIDEO_TS folder contains the perfect backup of the DVD, ready to burn.

I can tell you once you get used to DIF4U, Docce4U and Reauthorist, the whole process really becomes a breeze... I feel people sometimes tend to thin it is far more complicated than what it really is. Just follow the guides and the software.

Waldok,

Thanks for giving a general overview of the whole process.

I will give it a shot.

By the way, who is this "Louis Armstrong" ?
If you have any problem with him just send me a copy of his picture, I'll take care of him
