Creating Dual layer DVD's in 2 DVD-R's

Here's the problem...

I authored a DVD that is dual layer and wrote Layer 0 and Layer 1 to different DLT tapes with HP VS80 DLT1 drive...
In the factory that create the masters for DVD's they said that they are compatible with up to 8000 series DLT and NOT DLT1...

So i'm trying to figure a way to write in a DVD-R the first layer and to another the second layer...
Does anyone know how to obtain this?

I only figured this way...Write to DLT and then read the tape and extract with ISObuster the files and write them to DVD-R.
Then i do the same with the other layer...But it takes A LOT of time this way...
