I have Xvid rip of a movie encoded with AC3 audio and i need to reencode it to VCD format. Im using TMPGEnc and it doesnt appect the AC3 track.
My question is how to create a completly uncompress .WAV file from the AC3 track in the movie?
I have tried the "Save WAV" in virtualdub but it just creates an AC3 file with a .WAV extension, and even then, Nero Wave Editor won't load it.
So how can i create a plain, straight up WAV file?
Thanks.

But can BeSweet work with AVI's?
I just started playing with BeSweet and I can't get it to pull the AC3 out of this movie and into WAV

u just said that VDub created an ac3 with wav extension. Feed the ac3 to BeSweet and ask a wav output.

Correct me if im wrong, but shouldnt PowerDVD be able to play AC3's? Because ive tried renaming the .WAV's to .AC3 and PowerDVD gives an error.

Because ive tried renaming the .WAV's to .AC3 and PowerDVD gives an error. Most players seem to have problems with pure AC3 audio, even when they play AC3 in avi and DVD streams without problems. You can try core mediaplayer( www.corecoded.com ) it seems this one can play AC3 audio tracks better than other mediaplayers.
