Install the LAME ACM codec.

The reason that you have 56k max is because that is the watered down Fraunhofer codec that comes with windows.

jamieuk,

this is not the way we are talking to each other on this board.
celtic_druid told you what you need to do: install the LAME ACM codec. It's included in the Lame package which is available at doom9's download page.

Just in case it's not totally clear to you or somebody else who finds this thread, you need to download the above file, extract the ACM folder, go into the folder and right click on LameACM.inf. Then select install. Click on Continue if you are using WinXP and it complains about the driver and you should be done.

I can't use LAME ACM 3.94alpha13 and alpha14 in vdub(mod). When I open 'audio compression' dialog in vdubmod, I get error...

@harryM: ever considered using besweet (GUI)??

also what error message did you get?

perhaps you want to try this codec: radium mp3 (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Audio/ra-codec12.zip)
