View Full Version : 2.59 tmpgenc plus and mpeg2 invalid format

hi

I installed tmpgenc plus 2.59.10 with powerdvd xp and want to crop an mpeg2 that was captured in SVCD sizing.

It worked once. (Nero didnt like it so I had to re encode it). I installed a Powerdvd XP patch and then it stopped working and tmpgenc no longer recognises it as a valid file format.

Can anyone explain what the folks at tmpgenc are doing to their software it seems to be going backwards in functionality and stability.

Thanks

I had a similar problem, see thread:

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43184

Not actually Pegasys' fault

note the entry:
At this point, I contacted Pegasys Inc. Turns out that Cyberlink has changed the specification, and so their mepeg-2 decoder no longer works with Tsunami.
However, the following workaround does the trick:

Load TMPGEnc, but do not open the mpeg-2 file.
Open the file with Windows Media Player, run a few frames and then pause it.
Leave WMP open, and then the mpeg-2 file should open in TMPGEnc without problem.

WMP opens the file with DirectX, getting round the "overlay" output method.

hi Steve_g

thanks for your help. I have installed Powerdvd Version 2.5 and removed WMedia player 9. I will try your recommendations too
