just backed up first movie with ifoedit

ok I made my first dvd backup (Silence of the Lambs)I followed the movie only guide using ifoedit. It says to rip the whole disc but is that neccesary when I only want the movie? Also is it possible for the audio to be out of sync when backing up this way? its probly just my imagination but it almost seemed like the audio didnt match up like it should.
