Hello everyone, I have been using this board for a while now and decided to post. I'm having trouble with the DVDs I copy, specifically in the form of playback quality. I have now tried two different types of media. The first media I tried was Princo True 2X from allmediasource.com. I'm burning with the CenDyne 4x (Re-bagged Pioneer A05). On every DVD copy I have burned there are a lot of areas where "blocks" will show up. I decided that it must be the media so I switched to TDK DVD-Rs, only to experience the same issues. I tried the DVDs in 2 different DVD players and both have the same issues. One DVD player is a Panasonic RP-91 and the other is a Sony. The only conclusion I can draw now is that something is going on either with IfoEdit, or with the burning process. I'm using Firmware 1.21 on the DVD Burner. Can anyone help?

Your TDKs might actually be Princo knock-offs. Check this first.

Thanks for the reply djadjet. How do I know if they are princos? These (http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/Sku.asp?PageType=1&Sku=501533) are the TDKs I have.

I don’t think that Staples would sell knock-offs, but you never know. Take ADVDInfo (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd-r_tools/advdinfo.cfm) and check the info against the data base (sticky on this site). How does the disk look like, what is written on it and most importantly is the back side dark or light purple?

I've had numerous problems of this nature with Princo and Princo clones. Not being snobby - just telling it like it is: I've NEVER had such issues with Riteks (whether they be unbranded Riteks or Traxdata Riteks). I too would be suspicious of your TDKs if they demonstrate the same faults as your Princos. However, there may be another cause - perhaps you, or the supplier before you, allowed humidity or heat to damage the media beforehand..?
