okay, no I'm needing help.
video captured at NTSC using Vdub.
using avs script to turn it into progressive non interlaced source
using tmpgenc to make it into M2v and WAV file.
using a bit rate calc in a excel sheet I downloaded by brent greery
movie is 1 hour 52 minutes long
using audio at 192 for ac3 2.0 for a size of 161mb
gives me a figure of 5100 for the video at a file size of 4.29 gb
well when I run it through TMPGenc 2.59 I get the following.
the program says it will give me a file of 5.2GB and take 30 hours. 30 hours later I have a m2v file of 3.8gb and an audio file of 1.2 gb.
of course I know it basically matches the programmes estimate, but how do I now figure the bitrate so that I use about 4.2gb and gain more information per second with a higher average bitrate, without going the trial and error route?
I used convolution 3D to smooth things out. I know this filter gives better compressibility, could this be at play here? if so, do I need to factor something in to get the maximum possible bitrate without having to fart around re-rendering for another 30 hours?
