Hi,

When trying to follow the DoIt4U Tools guide, I bumped into the following problem when DoCCE4U took over from DoItFast4U: first, I got the following error message: http://users.pandora.be/verbal/DoCCE4U/error1.jpg

What I did then was manually doubleclick the .ecl file. After that DoCCE4U showed me the following error: http://users.pandora.be/verbal/DoCCE4U/error2.jpg

I'm using Windows XP Pro with SP1 installed, CCE SP 2.50, DoItFast4U 1.1.0.0c and DoCCE4U 1.0.0.7. At first I set my Regional Options to Dutch(Belgium), but I changed that to English United States.

Anyone got a clue what goes wrong?

Thanks.

There seems to be a problem with DoCCE4U and operating systems in languages other than English. Open CCE, go to File -> Open and look at the title of the window. Does it say Open, or something else?

Version 1.0.0.8 should fix this problem since it allows for users to manually type what the title of the open dialog is.

When I go to File -> Open, the Window says "Open". I find it strange because my Operating System's language is completely set to English now.

I started the whole process over again and made sure DoItFast4U didn't start and open DoCCE4U automatically. Afterwards I started DoCCE4U and loaded the file list...everything seems normal now. My first encode is in progress. Hopefully all goes well, so I can finish my first DVD backup :)

I am now getting this message frequently, however its only on the main movie, small extras etc.. do fine!!! But when it comes to re-encoding the main movie it does the first part(roba 1 pass) then it comes out with error!

If you are having trouble with the "&Open" in the settings tab, try "&O". It fixed my problems.

I seem to have the same problem. I figured it's because of the time it takes to refresh the DoCCE4U dialog between the first and second parts.

I am working on the problem. Can you tell me if it seems to take a very long time to close the cce window and reopen it between the first and second parts of a roba encode?

Well I actually can't as I never see the change as I either do this sort of thing while I am at sleep or work. But usually when I do a long encode, like a main movie, when it finnishs encoding CCE does take a while to "come back"

Same here :p I almost alway encode big stuff at night. I sat here one day and encoded an 1.5 hour movie about 5 times so I could try to figure out what's going on. It doesn't seem to happen all the time, just when it really wants to annoy me.

what exactly is the program attmpting to do anyway??? I am unfamilar with the whole roba method. It says its trying to locate the CCE transcoding window, why???? Does it need to cancel that part of the encoding or something or am I barking up the wrong tree??

Yeah, a slightly southern tree :) CCE isn't a CLI program, so you can't just send it a commandline and expect it to go. I have to start the main program, then find the file open menu, click it, find the file open window, add the filename to the combobox, find the OK button, click it, then find and click the encode button. When that's all accomplished, I have to locate the transcode window so I have something to monitor for when the transcode process is complete (since, not being a CLI program, CCE doesn't automatically exit when the transcode is complete).

Hi BBWolf,
First off thank you for the hard work. :) Your program rocks!

I'm using version 1.0.0.9 and still get this error. My OS is English (WinXP) Athlon 1Ghz and yes, my computer is slow going from step 1 trying to get to step 2. You think this would have anything to do with the Setting: Hide CCE Main Window on Execution?

Thank you,
-LF

When I had the problem, I also tried changing that setting, but it didn't help me. Now, with the new versions, my problem seems to have vanished. DoCCE4U is doing a kickass job now :)

I get the Error in DoCCE4u 1.0.0.9, but when I got the error CCE just kept on going, right now it is transcoding the main movie even though it got that error, was curious if anyone has any idea if it will get screwed up after all the encoding is done, wor what, but right now it's encoding the main movie, and looks okay.

Yeah the error isn't that bad for me b/c I'm not an extra guy just a movie only and I only use CCE for movies in the 2hr 10 minute and above range, but definatley could use a fixin, b/c when it finishes it just stops and I have to run pulldown seperate.

A bit frustrating with this error about not being able to find the CCE window. I used to get this error occasionally, now it seems to be every time. I am using an English version of XP. When it does work this app is awesome !!

Anyway I am trying different ways to see if it I can find a way around this. But would be grateful if anybody else has any other ideas.

When I used Reauthorist I didn't have the problem. So I'm not sure what's going on with it.

Hi,

I got rid of the cannot locate cce transcoding error by editing the &Open to Open, ie removing the '&'. This seems to have done the trick for me.

I'm using English XP.

Glen.

Is this fixed in the new version 1.0.1.0?? Cause man it sucks

What also happens to me, is that it cant find the .ecl file, due to i think DoItFast4U sending DoCCE4U the file with a double backslash (ie, c:\dvd\\file.ecl) and it not working..

anyone know a way around that?

SkoalWintergreen

This has to be fixed, DoCCE keep reeconding the movie, isntead of moving on to the next job its horrible, I just tried to stop it but it went ahead and started agains for the third time so after 12 hours of encoding I have a 6mb file, ugh this is frustrtating just locate the window.

Hi...
any news regarding this 'can not locate transcode window' stuff?
I get that on *every* movie I backupand gets slightly tyring. I don't complain because in the end the software is nice and has been kindly given to us, but I would like to know if anybody has got rid of this error. Does latest version solves it?

Hi,
I've read quite a lot about all the problems that occur to different users and might have some solutions for you. First of all the problem with the error "The above filename is invalid" is due to a problem in some versions in DIF4U. Make sure that your working directory doesn't end with a \ since this is probably what is causing the problem. Regarding the second error with "Could not locate cce transcode window!", you might want to delete all docce4u files and also the registry-entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WoofSoft. After this is done install version 1.0.1.0 and make sure to change all settings and most importantly change the open-dialog text. Make sure that it is "Open" and not "open" for english and "Apri" and not "apri" for italian windows and so on. Open cce and check what it should be for your own language. Hope this can help some of you.

I am definitely sorry for all the "Cannot locate CCE Transcode window errors". In version 1.0.1.0 I changed some of the timeouts for the loops and even changed some of the loops themselves from standard "Do... while..." loops to timed loops so that between iterations DoCCE4U releases all CPU cycles to the other apps. I haven't had the problem since.

If you are still having problems, please let me know what version you're using and send me a log.

Thanks

@BBWoof,
don't worry, I was running 1.0.0.8 so I can't tell about 1.0.1.0. Now according to what you say the problem must be solved... good :)
However it's surprising how I've been using 1.0.0.8 since it was released and never had a single problem, until some day I got that one and ever since I've experienced the same.
No big deal, though. I'll update tonight to 1.0.1.0.
Thanks for such a fancy proggy:D

I am using 1.0.1.0 and I am still experiencing problems although not every time, which is more frustrating.

What seems to happen now is when it can't find the open dialog box it produces an error, but will still carry on encoding and when it finishes 6/7 hours later it does it all over again because now it is able to find the dialog box. In effect it is taking twice as long.

Last night I set it running from ReAuthorist with no other application loaded and it worked perfectly

When (if !!) it happens again I will post the log

Cheers

Well actually what I experience is that DoCCE4U goes over the 1st. pass in RoBa method, then complains about the transcode windowd not being found but (fortunately!) still opens CCE once again and does the second pass. Once this is done, it stops and doesn't process any other stream.
Hopefully the first item usually is the main movie, which is the guy that requires more work/time. So I only have to close it and open it again and reencode the extras, which take less time to do...

Yes, that's exactly what happens on earlier versions and as you say it didn't cause any problems, just restart and process only the extras. However on the latest version the problem has changed and it processes the 2nd pass twice (sometimes !!)

Anyway this small problem doesn't put me off, because it is a great tool, which can only get even greater if this is resolved.

Cheers
