Hi,

I have just made my first ever .ogm file using DVX. I installed the latest version (DVX 3.0 RC 30) and the accompanying sys pack along with .NET.

All went well, but when I play the resulting file, the sound is there but the video is blank.
I played the video file (DivX 5.02 Pro) and sound file (OGG) seperately and they both play fine. I tried re-muxing in VDubMod but the result is the same. I have converted many movies in the past with GKnot and MP3 and do have quite a bit of experience, however, having been away from the scene for some time I feel a little left behind by all the recent developments, especially where filters etc are concerned.

I also notice that there doesn't appear to be any chapters in the file, even though I pasted them into the 'Chapter' tab under options in DVX. Could this be a related problem?

I have tried both WMP 6.4 and ZoomPlayer. I have XP Pro SP1 and a Radeon 9700 video card. The file is playing from my HDD and not a CD.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers, Beastie.

PS. does DVX automatically use MPEG2DEC3 and YV12 encoding for the speed improvement, or do I need the alter any settings? Thanks.

Is there a lot of know bugs in DivX? And why don't they fix them?

there is at least one more bug with divx and ogm i know of: maybe its been solved with 5.0.3, i dont like it :P

the picture seems to jump for a millisecond, though the avi is ok, even if you demux the ogm. solution is usage of ffdshow... but that doesnt look as good ...

in case of problems you can post *_Encode.dvx and *_DVX.log as zipped attachment. Are the chapters in the logfile? Maybe chapters are broke, the chapter edit feature is new...

maybe upload function was disabled, I can't use it too but you can still post the text content of the logfile or upload it at my board

OK, I have posted the log files on your board in the Bugs section in an existing thread called 'Problem with muxing chapter info'.

Thanks for your time and efforts,
Cheers, Beastie.
