Hi,
I read a guide on how to encode menus with VobEdit. It's been written in January '03 and the author says that although it's a good beginning that menu-encoding thing still doesn't work really proberly. How`s it today? Because I`ve got a menu which is 1 gb large and would like to save more space for the main movie to get best quality. Or isn't it worth the effort?
Thanks,
TB

Okay, it seems to be possible, as DVDShrink can do it (don`t know about other one-klick-solutions). But the author of that prog did it, I don`t know how.
But I was successul to combine my own Scenarist-project with the main-menu encoded by DVDShrink.
I just took in IfoUpdate as original .ifo the one encoded by DVDShrink and as authored one the Scenarist-made .ifo. And it seems to work.. chapter-navigation, linking..
But I have to say that it was a still menu, didn't try it with a video-stream, yet. And it's a complicated way as DVDShrink "produces" the .ifo in the end of encoding, so you would have to wait for the hole encoding-process since you can`t encode just the files you need..
Maybe I'm on the completly wrong track, but I'll give it a try once again, because no "pro" here in doom9 answered questions about menu-encoding the recent days/ weeks..
So if there`s an easier way to do this, please say it to me/us!!
Or maybe DVDShrink, you could just say, how you did it...;-)
Bye,
TB
