HELP::: MPEG-2 encoding freezes at 2GB filesize on NTFS

Hello.

I'm running WinXP with all NTFS drives.

I have a 90 minute video I created in Premiere 6.0 which I want to encode into MPEG-2.

1. I tried using the video server (videotools.net) to TMPEG. This worked great, but when my .m2v file got to 2GB, the server just hung and I had to END TASK it.

2. I then tried to use the CCE Adobe plugin to see if that would solve the problem. Again, everything was going beautifully until I reached roughly the same point; which it then hung.

I'm wondering if this is an issue with my NTFS drives or perhaps with Premiere's exporting??

it sounds definetly like a Fat32 problem to me. I am dvding all the time my dv home movies and never had an issue exporting 4gbplus files from Premiere and CCE.

Assuming that u have checked the drives for NTFS and there aren't errors in them, r u sure u r not running low on disk space?

Isn't there any error in the dv file?

I agree that there shouldn't be any problem with exporting and that I should be getting the same experience as you.

My drives, as far as I know, are error free. I have not had any problems in that regard.

Space also is not a problem... I have plenty of room for a 4GB file.

I will try doing a defrag, etc.

Question, however. What version of Premiere (and patch) are you using? I'm using 6.01 and have been hesitant to install the 6.02 BETA patch. Any experience with the .02 patch?

I was using 6.0 and upgraded to 6.5. Both versions behaved the same.
