Read that a new firmware upgrade was out for the Pioneer A05. I downloaded it but am not sure how to flash the firmware. I spent an hour searching the web a various forums. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Firmware is here:

extract http://www.xtracerfilez.net/filez/A05/a05_ritek.zip to a bootable floppydisk (or zipdisk/cd-r/memorystick/other bootable device), boot from the device and lanuch upgrade.bat .

Update, I couldn't upgrade the firmware through DOS. My computer kept crashing each time I would click on the upgrade.bat or other file. So I finally put it in my other computer located downstairs, which had XP Home no Pro like the one upstairs I clicked on the upgrade.bat file and it downloaded w/o a hitch. I confirmed that I had the new firmware and re-installed the drive in my main computer. I tried it and confirm that it does burn Ritek G03 at 2x speed :) A 3.78gb disck too me around 23 minutes. Because of this, I ordered another 100pack for Riteks from rima.com for $115 shipped. (before they run out or increase the price because of this) I know some people who got G02 discs from Rima, but my buddy ordered this week and got the G03 batch. I hope, since I ordered a 100 pack, I get the G03. Hope this thread helps someone.
