Interesting problem here.
I'm running DVD2AVI and turning 1-5 minute M2V files into .AVIs in the Matrox DV codec.
The problem is DVD2AVI does not seem to recognise the codec... or rather it used to, but doesn't any more!
I used to run a Radeon graphics card in my PC. If I opened up Adobe Premiere and left it minimised, then DVD2AVI would recognise the Matrox codecs. If I didn't run Premiere, the Matrox codec would not be an option. I presumed that activating Premiere kicked in the hardware codec...
Now I've upgraded to a Geforce 4 card and even with Premiere running in the background, the Matrox codecs are no longer an option.
Any idea how I can get it working? It's a real pain in the ass having to save off my AVIs as Huffyuv then using Virtual Dub to convert to the Matrox codec, all so I can edit in realtime in Premiere...
