I have managed to make the Root menu display by settings unwanted video clips and fbi warnings to 0 play time and it works just find on my computer however my stand alone displays a black screen until you press the skip button.
I was hoping someone could tell me (and walk me through) how to locate/caculate the hex number needed to enter into the Pre Command in the VMS of Video_TS.ifo
thanks for your help in advance

Were these, unwanted video clips and FBI warnings, residing in a MLU (Menu Language Unit) and you just did a "delete playback" on them?
What happens when you just edit your last jump command in your VIDEO_TS.IFO / VMGM_MAT / First Play PGC / PGC Command Table as
(JumpSS_VTSM) Jump to Titleset Menu?

yes i just did a delete playback on them,
the real problem is i am very new to ifoedit and i dont know how to properly change the pre commands (ie how to change it to a jumpss_vtsm)
any help on how to do that would be great.

If you right click on a command you can select to edit it. This editor uses mnemonics and symbolic names to make it easier.
