Garbled picture at end of each disk

Hello,
It seems as of late I've been having some difficulties with backing up my movies. The last couple I've tried have had a garbled picture in the last minute or so of each disk. By garbled I mean little glitches all over the screen, like when a DVD is really scratched and it appears that pieces of the screen aren't where they should be. I've done a lot of movies in the past and this has never been an issue until the last couple. If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to share.

Check out the mpg's off the hard drive, but I think you will find them to be OK.

It really sounds like either a burning issue or a DVD player issue.

Try to slow your next burn down to the slowest your burner will go. Try other media.

The other possibility and I think more likely is that DVD players all have different thresholds of what it will play size wise on CD's.

Try dropping the cd size from 800 to 790 and redo the encode. This should drop the final image size from about 806Mb's to 796Mb's.

I own several DVD players and one has no issues all the way to 828Mb's, but the exact same disc on my other player will fail. I need to drop the burned image size down about 20mb's. You might just have a player that needs a smaller size.

Hi-

For me, it was changing the burning software that did the trick. CDRWin gave me the green and other colored blocks, and scrambled picture during the last minute or so of play. I switched to Burn Image with Nero and it didn't happen any more.
