Hi!

I look almost every day over sourceforge to see if something has happened to 'my favorite projects'. That means traffic for sourceforge and also a little time for me...

So my question: is it possible to set up a read only mailinglist that announces new VDubMod releases?

I know there is 'virtualdubmod-devel', the automatic CVS and 'virtualdubmod-general' mailinglists on sourceforge, but the cvs is too much for me and 'virtualdubmod-general' seems not to be used in the way I mean (you can't find anything about 1.4.13.2 there)

Of cource only if it is not too much work for you....

Thank you...

Lo Ewi,

honestly speaking, it seems the whole VdubMod dev team is more addicted to using webboards, thats why the mailing list is hardly ever used. Even i havent posted anything to it since ages, and in the past i even had to learn some of the key developers were not even subscribed to it ;) ....

Mailing lists are most commonly used from Linux people, and as we all are aware they wont use VirtualdubMod too often ( yes, i know it works under wine, but this doesnt change the facts that Linux people use either mencoder, xine or transcode :D ) ....

It would probably help a lot if we added a page to the VdubMod homepage just like this one here for matroska http://matroska.sourceforge.net/contact/contact.html that will list the mailing lists and how to subscribe to them.

But i dont think we will add another ML now, with respect to the fact that the existing ones are hardly used. But i promise to discuss with Cyrius and Belgabor if we should maybe use the existing General list to annouce new versions, this should be possible, only for you ;) ....

Hi!

I feel honored :) but it was only a suggestion... If you think it's not necessary I don't want to bother someone with this....

You just need to register at SF and then monitor the vdubmod package. You'll get an email as soon as a package is updated.
