snagit avi size reduction

i used snagit's video capture function to take a screen capture of some mouse movements in IE6 window 1024x600 sized...

i used Microsoft Video 1 with compression quality between 45-70% and 5 frames/s but the resulting avi file is around 135kb to 40MB in size.

How can i reduce the file size some more and make resize the video to say 640x375 ?

Use a more advanced video-codec like divx or xvid to get real low sizes of your videostream. use virtualdub to resize everything. for capturing losless, use huffyuv or for screen-captures something like avimszh could do a good job, as IMHO it only compresses deltas of the frames, witch is quite usefull for screen-capturing.
