I'm trying to rip DVD's to my HD then play them back, and have had some success. "Tin Cup" and "The Matrix" for instance.
Once the movies have been ripped, playing them back with PowerDVD4 (by selecting the Vts_0X_0.ifo file) in the destination directory results in an error "Unknown file format".
If I copy the Video_ts.ifo file from the DVD to the same directory, then select that file in PowerDVD, no problem, the movie plays fine.
After ripping "MissionImpossible2" and trying the same technique, PowerDVD crashes after selecting Video_ts.ifo.
No error message, Power DVD just stops responding and I have to delete it with alt-ctrl-del to continue.
There is no difference between Smart Ripper and DVD Decrypter - I tried both. Also no difference between Win98 and WinXp Pro.
I know I'm missing something easy. Hope you can help.
Thanks
