I have a Region 2 Pal format DVD that I want to play on my Region 1 NTSC TV . I have dowmloaded DVDdycryptor , Infoedit , DVD Toolbox. I have Ripped the DVD and removed the region code and have it sized to fit on one disc but I don't know how to change the Format from Pal to NTSC . Any suggestions or help would be appreciated . Thanks

Actually its ifoedit and dvddecrypter. Other than this, there is an excellent thread about the subject in the dvd encoding forum by easy2Bcheesy.

Why can't u use the search function? neway here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45459&highlight=pal+to+ntsc) it is.

I did use the search Function and I read that thread several times . It seemed to pertain more toward films then DVD's . But then again I am kind of new at this and am still in the learning stage so most of the thread I did not understand . I was hopeing that there was some kind of freeware software that I could use to convert The DVD after ripping it. Sorry for bothering you with the question.

U r not bothering at all.U can't expect a freeware programm if any existed to be able to perform a job that is done in a $70.000 console in a studio?

However the programs that easy2bcheesy is mentioning in the relevant thread do a very good job, albeit they r not free.

Thanks again, I have read that thread several more times and have acquired some of the software mentioned in the thread . I have been going over a few of the guides and will probably give it a try this at the end of the week . Being new at all this I thought it would be alot simplier to convert the Pal dvd to NTSC and then burn it to a DVDr. I'll let you know how it works out .
