Hey Guys
Well, i am finally able to get the picture looking good, all except for one thing. No matter what i try to deinterlace this pal anime, i cant get it right. No matter what i do or what deinterlace i use, its still no good.
I tried Smart Deinterlace, GreedyHMA, Virtualreduceby2, Vdub deinterlace, area based deinterlace, Pal movie interlace and i still get black lines running through the anime.
With the avi synth ones, its not so much back lines, but i get color bleeding you could say, you can see the lines still and its more like a rainbow color i guess.
I need help on how to deinterlace properly if anyone can help.

Post a link to an unprocessed source clip that displays the problem, and which we can download for testing.

If you can't do that, as I said thousand times before, and as it has been probably said in some doom9 guides: (you people just don't search ¬.¬)
1) You've got the standard crappy PAL conversion for anime: use the Decomb plugin that way:
FieldDeinterlace(full=true,dthreshold=0)
The output will have a lot of blends! motion won't be perfect, but this the best you can get!
2) You're lucky and has one of the few DVDs that are field shifted (I have one french Saint Seiya DVD which is like that)
Telecide(post=false)
The output will have NO blends and the motion will be perfect!
NB: Those commands must come *directly* after the mpeg2source line!!
And rainbowing can't be eliminated, it's already on the DVD, nothing to do about it!

You're lucky cause you got Neuron2 and Dj Bobo helping u.
Hava a look at http://www.doom9.org/ivtc-tut.htm
Anyway cause a few days ago I was struggling with an interlaced pal (not anime) and tried everything without success until Dj_Bobo told me to give a try to:
Bob()
SelectEven()
Even though in motion it ain’t the best it was undoubtedly the one that gave me:
-deinterlaced result
-less colour bleeding
-and specially less rainbows
Not sure if it could help you, but to me worked better than anything else I tried (Thx Dj_bobo).
All the best
Sharro
PS: Neuron2 and Dj_Bobo if this is completly wrong advise just post here and I will delete it.

if indeed, it's a blended clip, check out this thread (no automated solution found so far):

If you just wanna get rid of the nasty horizontal lines, I think TMpgEnc would do. (yeah, I know this is the anisynth area, not for TMPGEnc:)).
If you wanna try it anyway, here are the tricks:
open your d2v file with the "video source" in TMPGEnc, select "setting" at the bottom right, then go to "advance", double click "inverse telecide".
Now you can manually select which frames you wanna deinterlace using dozens of deinterlacing options, or not deinterlace at all. and if you were lazy as I am, simply choose deinterlace after this frame using even-odd field animation adaptation, since you metiond your source was an anime. And believe me it could give you a very good result! It may not be as sharp as the DVD source, but the result would be really awesome!

@ killerhis
Total non-sense! he has an interlaced PAL DVD with blends within the fields.
@ cipher
Total non-sense! he has a PAL DVD, not NTSC!
