View Full Version : DivX 5.02 unknown / not supported ?!?

hiho =))

im just trying to convert some divx 5.02 to svcd...

...but i cant open it with virtual dub, avi info, dvd2vcd or tmpeg,
allways the format is unknown or not supported.

i have the codec installed and can watch the divx with the media player without any problems =/

what do i do wrong?

one told me to post in the divx5 forum where i allready found the answer:

Are you sure you have DivX5.02 installed? The symptoms you are describing indicates that you don't have DivX5.02 installed, but rather ffdshow. That would enable you to playback the video, but not open it in VirtualDub etc, as they requires vfw support instead of DirectShow. And if you have installed some obscure 'codec pack' (nimo etc.), I suggest you throw everything out and get the official releases instead. You can also use GSpot to find what codec the .avi has been encoded with.
