Sorry for a long first newbie post, but I have looked around a lot and still can't get chapters working for non-VOBID movies.
I've been using the UberGuide, and have made many sucessfull backups.
Video is fine, most of the time extras are too.
But chapters are never right.

Here are the steps I follow:
I start CCE.
Load my AVS files.
save project to ecl
use IFOUpdate to get chapters (w/ CCE Chapter Point (FILM))
Copy chapter locations from PGCXX-CCE-FILM.TXT to saved ecl file after encode_last line
Encode in CCE
Pulldown mpv files
drag assets into Scenarist
create tracks
Export to script
run scenchap, drop in script
drop in ifo, copy from ifo, for each track
create new script
run scenarist, new from script, choose new *-chap.scp
lay tracks on scenario editor, and start layout editor

After laying the tracks on the scenario editor, there are the correct number of chapters.
However when I get the final VOB output, the chapters are off.
I do have some chapters, and winDVD tells me that the number of chapters is correct.
But all the chapters are off, the first few tak me through the movie, but to the wrong locations,
and the last few take me to the end of the movie/VTS.
This also makes the scene selection from the Menu not work.

This hasn't been a big problem since the movie works fine.
But the last couple of movies had some extras split into different chapters of one VTS.
An example is the deleted scenes in Bourn Identity.
If I pick the first scene, it plays through it, and then plays a min. or so of the second scene.
Then it takes me back to the Menu.
If I select the last scene, it starts playing the music video, which isn't even a selection from that screen.

I hope I've explained this enough, please ask for any clarification.
One point to make is that the first chapter is always right,
but each chapter after that is further away than it should be,
making the last few chapters basically past the end of the movie.

Any help would be great, since I'd like to make one perfect movie sometime.

And one last question, how do you make manual chapters in Scenarist?
I know you can slide the grey bar at the bottom scenes and select New->Scene.
But how do you know what scene time your at?

Thank you,
Ted
