Instantcopy can't backup my Matrix movie(pal2) right! The playback dosen't work as it should. The movie stops in some scens, play some parts twice and jump over some short clips, but works fine in the rest of the movie.

Have tried to backup the movie 3 times with Instant and the same problems every time, so it seems to me that Instant can't handel this movie?

I have backed up alot of movies using Instant before and haven't had any problems before. Have anyone backed up Matrix(pal2)with instsnt and get it to work?

Can't understand why it can't backup this movie right......

@Espen,

Got the same problem with MATRIX, only mine is Region 1, NTSC. IC-7 gives an error "List Index out of bounds (0)" and that's about all it will do. My paid-for IC-7 is fully upgraded to ver. 7.0.1.114 with the MagicDVD reg hack trick installed.

Then, to be sure that something wasn't wrong with IC-7, I successfully did two different movies using it without any problems. Then, I went back and did MATRIX using DVD2ONE ver. 1.1.1 and that come out perfectly. None of these were stripped using IfoEdit, though that may help in the case of MATRIX, as I'm sure MisterX will confirm :p

Yes, this can happen after you mount an .ISO with Daemon tool - seemingly necessary but inextractable...

try ripping the movie in FILE mode so you get a bunch of IFOs and VOBs. i have never had a problem doing it this way. the one reason not to do this is that there will be no AUDIO_TS directory, but the patch on InstantCopy resolves that by automatically including a AUDIO_TS folder in its output PDI files.

I agree, file mode seems to give less problems for people and absolutely none for me regarding IC

the only errors I ever get is when I mess up the structure myself, which I usually do :D, but always fix

just ripped Matrix, no messing straight into IC and set it away at automatic resize of 4.31Gb

it's processing now (bloomin slowly aswell 800KB/s!!), but I'm wondering if IC can't update IFO's correctly when it removes stuff then maybe it no good updating them when it does keep all the stuff with complicated DVD's like the Matrix :p

when I come across problems during playback I may just try and update the IFO's myself and see if that sorts it out

the video is there just a different size, it's probably the IFO's that are to blame

might be the solution, you never know

So MisterX any luck with Matrix yet? Having some major computer problems right now so I don't have the possibility to try out Matrix for the moment.

matrix can be done i did it with instant copy kept everything and everything works well white rabbit etc no repeating scenes or skips just make sure when you test it out you use windvd and not powerdvd. powerdvd doesn't seem to play it properly but windvd can and my burned copy works the way it should in every standalone i've tried

So you mean that it's because of PowerDVD that MATRIX don't work proper? Well it sounds strange, but I will burn MATRIX to a DVD+RW and test in my standalone and se if the problems disappears.

If PowerDVD don't play it and something else did, personally I wouldn't burn it cos it may not play in a fussy player

I can't try it anyway cos I've deleted it :)

thanks for the info anyway

So I have tried MATRIX in DirectDVD and WinDVD and to my suprise it worked fine. So I guess that it's powerDVD that can't handel the IFO's made by INSTANT. However PowerDVD is a great prog, but the playback of ISO and some other backups(like MATRIX) isn't the best.

get it burnt then and tell us the results :), but I'm surprised cos PowerDVD normally plays anything

Yeah Should try to burn it on a RW and will post the result...

it will work i've tried it on about 10 players and all of them played the movie as it should

great news, but what puzzled me was the extra 25MB between the version that didnt work and the version that did With PowerDVD

guess I'll find out when my Sony either gobbles one up and plays it or spits it out next time I come across a similar thing :D

p.s. just think Matrix 2 is out this year :), wonder what that DVD will be like?

just to add my 2 penneth i just did independence day r2 and got the repeating scenes jobby, first cock-up with ic ive had,i guess its the structure ic screwed up cos i then mounted it and ran it through dvd2one it then came out fine.

I have tried Matrix now, and it played just find in a sony player(this player plays almost every dvd no matter what), but the problems was there when i test it in a pioneer. So i better think I will try this demux/remux thing, but I'm not very in to this, so could you pleas describe this demux/remux thing a little deepar, MisterX? What prog do I use and so on....

MackemX

did it mess up on chapter 10 to 11 part where Neo says 'Welcome to the real world'?

thats what mine did when I used PowerDVD as I didn't burn it cos I just borrow it if I wanna watch it :)

my Sony is one fussy thing when I place a DVD that ain't been done right, wish it was like yours :(

all I did was demuxed the video stream from the main movie VOB and then remuxed this stream using the original IFO

I then had a new remuxed Movie VOB. I put the new VOB's back into the IC version (I moved the IC ones for backup just in case)

after that I dunno if I used Get VTS or if I also used the Ifo & Ifoupdate :confused

but if you back up all the IFO/BUPS and move the IC VOB's and don't overwrite them you can always go back and try other ways :)

looking at my other thread I think I just put the VOB's back into place and that was it cos if I'd used IFoedit or Ifoupdate after I wudda mentioned it. The only difference you will see is the extra 22MB or so but I think that's all the White Rabbit cells being corrected which are causing the problem to begin with

Maybe I'm stupid(or my english bad) but I don't understand this step. "all I did was demuxed the video stream from the main movie VOB and then remuxed this stream using the original IFO " What do demux mean and how do I demux?

Espen

And no it dosen't mess up in chapters 11-12, but it start to mess up in the beginning of 29 chapter when Neo fire at the guards.
