Sigh,, i'm pretty new to using scenarist, but I followed Trilight's guide religiously here and the results are bizarre.
I used subrip 1.15 and scenarist 2.27 and what's happening is, the subtitles are covering the movie. I can see parts of the movie inside the letters...its like the transparency is all messed up. get it? so my letters are transparent but the background isn't! any clues how to fix this? i tried messing with the color palette but that didn't help.

I haven't worked with subtitles, but have you tried checking the display colors per-cent values for your subpic colors? If you use red, blue, black, white; and your sub letters are white and background black this would by default make your subpic letters clear (see through) and black just black. If you go into Settings->Default Settings and check the colors tab, what does it show? If it's anything like Scenarist 2.6, it shows the white color as 0%. IF your sub letters are white and background black, change your Display=Selection=Action colors for white to White 100% across the board and Black to Black 100 % for all. This would make white show up as white. You can of course change it around to make the background invisible, but this is just a starting point.

Once again I'll state that i haven't worked with any subtitles, but this is how it would be for a normal sub-picture for a menu (in Scenarist 2.6).

Hope this helps.

Success!! I got it working! I'm a happy scenarist user now!! woo hoo.

You were right, it was the color percentage. for some reason the subtitles were E, and P was the background...ohw ell. so i made P 0% and E 100%..and it worked out fine.
I'm pretty happy with the results.
