DVDAutoVideoSize for IC - what does it do?

There's a registry setting for IC called DVDAutoVideoSize. You set it to True or False. What exactly does this do? Obviously it automatically changes the size of some video - but what/where? The preview window? The actual output of what it is processing?

If anyone really knows what this does, please let me know.

I wouldn't use it just put ur own settings. It will just autosize it to fit on a dvd-r 4.3 GB on ur DVD-R will leave all extras and movie at max quality as possible if u want extras then do it up to ya.

when you start IC the Automatic box is automatically ticked is you set it to TRUE

LOL :D, I originally skip read your post and thought you were asking about the other 3 settings and I wrote this below, but I'll leave it in for the benefit of others

a DVD has 4000MB of data

DVDAnalyzeMaxRel is set to 10%
DVDAnalyzeMinAbs is set to 200MB

now 200MB is is 5% of 4000MB, so under the 10% you have asked it to analyze, so 400MB will be analysed

change the settings a bit

DVDAnalyzeMaxRel is set to 5%
DVDAnalyzeMinAbs is set to 400MB

now 400MB is is 10% of 4000MB, so over the 5% you have asked it to analyze, so 400MB will be analysed

basically the higher of the two determines the amount analysed

so if it is a smaller DVD of 2000MB

DVDAnalyzeMaxRel is set to 5%
DVDAnalyzeMinAbs is set to 150MB

now 150MB(13.33%) of 2000MB, so over the 5%(40MB) you have asked it to analyze, so 150MB(13.33%) will be analysed

If this 150MB is smaller than the titleset that contains the title you are keeping then it will just analyse that titleset, but if this figure is bigger then it will analyse some of the other titlesets. If you watch you can see the Titleset being displayed for the title when its getting analysed. One thing I have noticed during a 2nd run tidyup that if you pick a small extra then it will disply the 'List index out of bounds error(0)', so if that happens just selct another title and set it to 100% and it will just fly through that but use it's video for the analyse

so a setting of 100% in the reg will just analyse the complete DVD as the other setting value will never beat it

I hope this explains it easily enough to people who are still confused :D

now what I'm wondering now is whether this 100% setting, which takes about an hour to analyse a DVD will also result in better quality aswell as the obvious increase in size I have seen

I've used video from the 'Ultimate Platinum' DVD as my test video which are very clear images and processed them at 30% quality in IC and tried it with 1% DVDAnalyzeMaxRel and 100% DVDAnalyzeMaxRel to compare not just sizes but the resulting quality also. If it's the same video that it analyses surely if one file is bigger then it contains more information which should in effect result in better quality :confused:, or so I'm thinking :)

Ahh.. Its that checkbox that allows you to set the sizes of the different titles yourself. I didn't know that. Now I do. Thanks!
