Hello everybody.
I bought a new BT8x8 capture card and installed it on my W2K - PIV 2GHz system. I then installed the BTWinCap drivers, the Huffyu codec and VirtualDub. I live in Italy, thus we have the PAL TV System.
I connected the card to the VCR via composite, and I was ready to capture.
Everything went fine. Almost...
Sometimes (but I couldn't understand in which cases) when I capture there is a bad "ghost" effect, while some other times there is no ghost effect and the capture is perfect.
For example, I tried to capture a CSI episode and everything was ok. Then I tried to capture a Mad About You episode, and there is the ghost effect.
I found out that becease of the 24 fps source, maybe the the "inverse telecine" filter might help.
Anyway, yesterday, while trying to capture M.A.Y., I started enabling all the enablable (can I say that? :) ) settings, when all of a sudden I stumbled in "Enable DirectShow acceleration" or something like that. It was set to Off. I enabled the "Even lines" and the ghost effect disappeared.
The ghost effect was also gone when I selected "Odd lines". It came back when I selected "Both lines".
So, can anyone tell me what am I doing when I select Even or Odd lines and why the ghost effect disappears?
Thank you very much!
Bye bye,
Massi.
