Hello!
I've used IfoEdit 0.95 to split a DVD-9 onto 2 DVD-R for a long time, but sometimes I've found some little problems when starting burn the 2 DVD-R images directories just created.
I've followed the Guide for a complete backup of a DVD-9 movie, but the problem still remains.
First of all, it's not quite clear why it is mandatory to copy all extras VIDEO_XY_0.* onto disc1 and disc2 backup directory, when in the example the file list doesn't report them.
Second, sometimes RecordNow DX and Nero cannot burn because of some strange error messages. I've discovered that using DVDXCopy for ripping DVD-9 onto 2 DVD-R is good for both Nero and RecordNow DX.

Is there a final guide for doing all basic steps for a complete DVD-9 to 2 DVD-R backup, using IFOEDIT?

Thank you very much in advance!

You only need to copy the files that you want on each disc.

1. If you want a menu on both discs you need to copy the VTS_xx_0.VOB to both discs.

2. You need to copy the special features IFO/BUP/VOB files to which ever disk you want them on, or both disks if you want them on both disks.

3. If you change the pre command on disk 2 to jump directly to the movie, but when the movie ends, you want the menu to come up, then copy the menu VOB to disk 2.

See here for a full explanation of what you need to do:

As far as burning goes, I burn the VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS (just an empty folder) folders as a Data disk (without creating an image). When it asks the continuation disk question, I pick 'Burn without continuation'. I've NEVER had any problems burning this way, but then again, I burn DVD+R's and my standalone is an old APEX AD-660.
