Hi,
Im using SpruceUp to create my DVD's but it very very slow. Are there some tips tricks to speed up Spruce-Up's compile process or what else can I use with 5.1 channel AC3's?

What do you mean by slow ?
It takes 30 minutes to import files.
It takes 1 hour for me to multiplex .
My processor is an AMD Duron 800Mhz.

Importing a 2.5 hr MPEG took about 10 mins, that's OK. Multiplexing took about 3 hours last night on my 1800+ which is crazy for a movie which (I thought) was in the correct format to an AC-3 file.

Gee... That's weird.
Even with my poor old processor i am three time faster as you...
1)
Did you try to change the priority of your processus ? (launch taskmgr.exe, click process tab, right click on the spruceup process image) This can be performed on Win2K.
2)
How many disk do you have ? I have several disks on different buses. When I multiplex my video, I choose a different disk for the destination. My source file are on F: with a SCSI bus or G: on IDE bus 1 and my destination is C: on IDE 0.
I/O with large files has to be done on different buses for faster transfers (RIP, DeMux, Encode, MUX , burn...).
I also use reelDVD which is easy tu use. The mux time beetween SpruceUp an ReelDVD is quite the same.
PS : I have a 186 Mb RAM PC, with Win2K running...

@Huge
Maybe you should defrag your harddrive before using SpruceUp.

Hi 2COOL !
First of all I really appreciate your guide about cutting the end credits ! Very Useful when you have the same VOBiD all along the movie (like SpiderMan Zone 2).
I think that defrag is useful on FAT32 disks, with NTFS disks there is no need to defrag.
Another tip : With NTFS you can set a larger cluster size (Best I/O with large files).

I have five disks in this puppy including a RAID array, all defragged regularly (and NTFS still needs defragging.. trust me).
I wondering, does SpruceUp interlace its output? The video I was feeding in was progressive.
