i read all the q&a thread but didnt found an answer to my problems.

whan i'm trying to convert AVI2SVCD and add subs from TXT file, and in the pop up window i saw jibrish (is it a universel word? i mean machine lettres, bullshit, why? i'm trying to add subs in hebrew if
it mettres.

second, i read it on the Q&A, but wasnt sure it was what i needed.
i'v bourned SVCD with 3 subs streams and my DVD (prosound) sucseeded to play the video, but no subs shown, now is there a chance that a standalone will be programed to play SVCD and no SVCD subs.

thx in advance

Hello & welcome to the forum ... regarding Q1 I sadly have no experience in adding non-latin characters as subs.
Re question 2: yes, there are players which will play SVCD but no SVCD subs. Pioneer players belong to this category.
Be aware that you can have CVD-style (like the ones produced by Iauthor or winsubmux) or SVCD-style subs (produced e.g. by the Philips toolkit or by winsubmux). Some players will display only subs of one type, you might want to experiment. Perhaps check out vcdhelp.com, they have sample SVCD images containing subs. They also have a database detailing the capabilities of DVD players, including SVCD playback. That database is user-supported and may contain incorrect information, but is a good starting point.
Good luck!

Hi,
you have to use the latest version of DVD2SVCD !!!
go to the subtitle tab, and select the correct font and the correct FONT FAMILY !!! in your case hebrew.
note that the default font is verdana, which dose not support all font family. change it to Tahoma and then select Hebrew.

Enjoy!
