DVDToolbox; New Version, new ways

Hi guys !

I hope I will make not too many mistakes with my bad english in the following text :) :

The subject "security copies of dvds" is geting more public from day to day.
I never thougt at the beginning of the project that this will also happen to the DVDToolbox !

The commercial presure on me and the toolbox is growing every day.
On every day I get calls from print- and software-publishers.
The old licencing of DVDToolbox made it easy to earn money for other people !

I didn't want to earn money with the dvdtoolbox, but I don't want others to earn money with it !

Moreover donation action was a flop (but many thanks to the donators!)
I have spend some hundred euros on the whole thing so far.

So I decided to find a happy medium between the situation now and the pure commerce. (Thank you to MrBass for his words !)

My Answer is: Registration.

The unregistered Version of DVDToolbox will run with very little restrictions.
After registration (EUR 9,99 but EUR 12,99 for Credit Card) the Toolbox will completly unlocked.

People that made a donation will get a free registration (Look at the HomePage).

I hope we can get all happy with this !

P.S. DVDToolbox V0.12.0 is released.
Some of the changes:
- For compatiblity all VOB files are now maximum 1GB - 2KB long.
- New: "CorrectSectors"-Routine (Like Get-VTS-Sectors).
- Fixed: VTS_C_ADT and Playtime in PGC were wrong on multi angle.
- Fixed: Error with size and time calculation on multi angle.
- Choosable startup angle if more than one present.
- Automatic PAL/NTSC-Switching on CGPs (Change Graphic Pakets).
- Automatic 16:9 / 4:3 switching on CGPs.
- Function for creating own CGPs.

Hello,

There are minor problems with your App:

Creating titlesets main Video.TS files, the aspect ratio is sometimes wrong (It should look at the pre-Existing IFO to determinr it). Also, when deselecting the second audio stream, your estimated size is totally randomly wrong.

PS. I realize you have your worries about your app, but I do remember some of your first POSTS, DVDToolbox is a FREE alternitive to DVDXcopy. Hmmmmm. Not anymore. Thanks for your past App anyway. Good work.

Are you sure...it is always 100% accurate for me. It's only when you attempt to do it directly from the DVD instead of after it's been ripped to the hd where you'll get crazy estimations.

For the record: I didn't tell DVDToolbox to make it pay. I told him about vcdeasy, dvddecrypter and other freeware programs and how they dealt with stealing. In the end though it's DVDToolBox's decision and respect him either way. I already registered it cuz it's a great product. I've already done about 15 dvds with it. 8 mins each or so.

Cant believe it takes only 8 minutes to strip unwanted streams using DVDToolbox. Just did my 1st movie (4.9GB original; 4.2GB final). On a 1.6GHz Pentium 4 and 768MB of RAM, it took close to 20 min (comparable to dvd2one).

20mins cuz you did it on the same harddrive. If you do stream strip it to a separate hd it'll take 8 mins or less. dvd2one takes twice as long (if no transcoding is involved). I believe the reason dvd2one takes so long is first it copies the the entire movie 1/2 the time and the other 1/2 time is spent stripping it.

ok just did a test...stripped 4.37GB movie on an 80GB 5400rpm hd. Stripped it to the same hd. Result is 12mins and 40 secs. If your getting 20 mins I'd suggest you defrag your hd.

Hi, will you release a next version that will be able to combine a movie that is originally on a 2-sided disk? I think that many people do have problems with that and rely on you:) .
Personnaly I tried to combine the first two episodes of V, the Final Battle ( which is on a 2 sided-disk) with ifoedit but no success. I tried then to use IC to compress and CRASH:( . Please, do you plan to make it possible with DVDToolBox? Thanks for your answer.:)
