Hi, used dvd-decrypter for a while, just got a new new pioneer slot dvd-rom, put it in a new machine and installed DVD decrypter (aspi layers etc are all installed).

When trying to decrypt i first get the following error:

Device: [1:0:0] PIONEER DVD-ROM DVD-106 1.22 (D:)
Logical Unit Region has not been set
The slower Brute Force .... etc etc

I've been to the link it gives with the error, however I cant find my exact firmware update to make it multi region. The following page shows the pioneer drives they have firmware for, which one is mine? http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=1&manufactor=25

Secondly, when I do try to rip anyway, i get the following errors:
I/O Error
....
ScsiStatus 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition
... Lots more garbage ...

Any ideas?

You said you just got a new DVD-ROM, didn't you? Maybe you need to set a region first before using it. If you don't know how to set, just insert the DVD containing the region you want to use into the DVD-ROM. It'd automatically detect the region and set the region itself.

Well, going by what you've just said, I would guess that it's a pioneer DVD-106!

For that model of drive, it says to visit the following site for rpc1 firmware.

All you really need to do though is set the drives region.
No program 'should' work properly with it (playing a dvd that is) without the region being set. The drive 'should' just refuse to do certain things.
Simply right click on the drive selection drop down box and choose 'region' -> 'Change' -> 'Region 1....6'

Select the right one for where you live.
