View Full Version : IC movie database?

There was a thread here on DVD's that DIDN'T work with IC.
I'm wondering if it would be in anyone's interest to create a database of settings that work with DVD's using IC. Recent movies are fairly simple because more people are likely to have the DVD, so solving the issue is easier.

Obviously we're shooting for best main movie/episode quality while keeping as much extra quality as possible.

If no one thinks this is even remotely a decent idea, obviously this thread will die, but I suppose I can start with a DVD that I transcoded recently...

---------------------------------------------------------------------

David Blaine - Fearless

Video tracks -> 100% (dropping it down to 60% caused menu issues)
Title 1 -| 55% - Main Menu/News reports/Street Magic
Title 2 | " - Street Magic
Title 3 | " - Magic Man
Title 4 -| " - Frozen in Time (titles 1-4 quality linked together)
Title 5 -> 0% - Black screen (can be removed using IC)
Title 6 -> 0% - FBI warning screen (can be removed using IC)
Title 7 -> 0% - Buena Vista intro (can be removed using IC)
Title 8 -> 80% - Initial DVD intro w/ easter egg
Title 9 -> 45% - Unseen Blaine
Title 10 -> 30% - 'Archive' Pillar stunt easter egg
Title 11 -> 30% - 'Archive' Card trick easter egg
Title 12 -| 50% - 'Mind read' menu for title 13-22
Title 13 | " - Chickens
Title 14 | " - Bitten
Title 15 | " - Card Rise
Title 16 | " - Compton
Title 17 | " - Levitation
Title 18 | " - Penetrate
Title 19 | " - Resurrection
Title 20 | " - Tattoo
Title 21 | " - Taxi
Title 22 -| " - Vanished (titles 12-22 quality linked together)
Title 23 -> 0% - Video clip with no audio (can be removed using IC)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Final size keeping all audio & subtitles came out to 4.22GB, so adding a bit to titles 1-4 can help get it closer to full size.

In conclusion, even if this idea goes nowhere, at least I could have helped someone who might want to backup this DVD.

*EDIT* Thread doesn't have to have details as far as what I posted above. It could even be as simple as what DVD's work with IC.
