As per the Q+A.

Q29: I used special characters like ( ) [ ] % 1 2 3 001 4 5 6 7 8 9 in my output folder name
A: Don't use these. These characters can be source of problems at least for bbmpeg. Due to sheer number of programs utilized in DVD2SVCD bundle it's better to just stick to your ABC's lest you like to gamble with your time.

Loose the spaces as well.

If you still have problems after fixing this known problem then report back and we will go from there.

Very interesting, i been using spaces for the default folder when i first start using dvd2svcd and never have any problem. well i'll give it a shot. But is there a way that i can modify the log file or the recovery file or somthing because i dont want to re-encode the movie again. it take me over 9 hrs. Is there a way i can modify the recovery file to change the default folder so that way i dont have to re-encode it. thanks

P.S: i have amd 1800+ 1.5 ghz 512mb ddr ram is there a way i can encode the mpeg file faster? cuz i think my computer can go faster than ~9 per movie. thanks.

Hello, i tried to work w/ another movie again but it still not working. i already try to have no spaces in the folder name. this time besweet give me an error when it done. what's could be the problem? also could it be my aspi? thanks.

25th March 2003, 18:36
Check to make sure the mpv and the mp2 files have video and audio in them and they are both the same length.

It can't be aspi as aspi is only for the ripping and has no effect after that.

The problem is your titlepicture:
L:\Picture\Anime\aka041.jpg
Somehow dvd2svcd stumbles on that one. It encodes it ok it seems, by using tmpgenc, but then when bbMPEG is trying to do a "multiplex" on it, it fails. In the CDImage tab, try deselecting TitlePicture and see if things work better. If it does, you can mail me the above picture (L:\Picture\Anime\aka041.jpg) and I'll see if I can fix it. A sidenote, spaces is allowed in foldernames.

I dont think that the picture is the problem because i did this with two different movies. The first movie is the first time i encounter the problem with bbMPEG, i still using the default picture that came with dvd2svcd. The second movie i just thought i change the picture because i notice that bbMPEG had the problem when trying to work with the picture. Anyway i will try to encode another movie but turn off all the pictures. i'll get back to u tomorow. thanks in advance.

Ok i did encoded another movie over night. The picture thing that you said seem to fixed the problem but bbMPEG gave me another error. It said that it cant read from the file Encoded_audio_1.mp2. i went into the folder and checked the file. the file size is 0. so i think that's the problem. when looking at the log file i notice that when besweet created Encoded_audio_1.mp2 it also created a log. I went into that log (Encoded_audio_1.log) and i double check it with the log of another movie that i encoded. the two log file are different. The log of the file Encoded_audio_1.mp2 is missing some lines at the end. I post the two log below. When i encoded the movie over the night it also gave me the error of besweet maybe that's the problem too. This whole thing is so weird. I posted the dvd2svcd log of the movie below too. I dont even know what's going on and how to fix it. anyway, i'm thinking of just formating my hard drive. would this fix the problem? thanks.

Some good news, i just tried to use the recovery file to continue work on the first movie that i encode (the file time i encounter the problem with bbMPEG) but this time i unchecked all the pictures thing. well it seem to work now. So i quess you're right about the picture thing. But my question is that why it doesnt work with the pictures, even with the default pictures.
