- Added ability to select non-contiguous PGCs for demuxing.
- Added audio delay to .ac3 filenames.
- Added End PGC duration info to the VTS Attributes section.

- Fixed PAL .sst bug.
- .sst converter is given full path of .idx to remove compatibility issues.
- Added control for user to choose bitrate to encode extras VTSes.
- If a VIDEO_TS is created it creates a CCEdata.txt containing a list of all .avses and all calculated bitrates. For use with DoCCE4U from BBWoof!
- Reduced CPU usage while waiting for apps to finish.
- Added ability to get size of assets in subdirectories with the DVDCalc.
- Right-click on VTS now opens the corresponding .ifo in ifoedit.
- Vobid subs/cc demux fixed. (cc closes automatically now).
- Vobid subs/cc demux fixed. (VTSes missing _0.vob files still demux).
- Vobid subs/cc demux fixed. (.idx with language not specified still demux).
- Clicking on a PGC changes focus to corresponding VTS.
- HDD Demux now outputs files to <workingdirectory>\Demux.

- Improved memory usage.
- Multiple Main Movie VTSes detected (episodic DVDs, etc).
- Ability to cancel and close opened applications during mid-demux added.
- Added an AVS Editor for customizing the .avs scripts. (use #NOPULL in the script to specify to add ".nodrop" to the filenames).
- Create VIDEO_TS no longer locks the main window while executing.
- Added settings for adjusting number of passes to use in CCE for main VTS and extras VTSes.
- VobID Demux no longer gives multiple audio for the same VobID.
- Added more Integration with DoCCE4U, including ability to open/start automatically.
- Basic User Guide rewritten.
- Added audio notification for completion/errors.
- Bitrate calculation used the last chosen DVD Size from the DVD Calc for it's computations.
- VobID Demux uses intelligent filesize detection to determine incomplete vobids to delete.
- CCE Chapter list now forced to output always.
- Log file always output to root of project.
Known Issues:
- In some instances, 4:3 VTSes from PAL DVDs cause the sub demux to crash. If anyone experiences this, please email me with the exact title of the DVD that is doing it! If someone could donate an original DVD that has this problem, that would also be helpful!

First of all, congratulations for 1.1.0.0 ;)
Testet DIF4U with StarWars EP2.
MultiPGC movie with a lot of subtitle and 2 Angle.
I think the right movie for testing performance of newer version :D
(singlePGC arenīt a problem for DIF4U, so I decided a more pretentious movie for testing :D)
Just selected VTS01 for DIF4U: (6 subtitle; 3 audio in every PGC; mounted ISO)
Vobsub PGC: all Split by VobID
Well, itīs work, but very slow :(
PGC 1 have a lenght about 2 hours, so a longer vobsub duration is ok.
But PGC 2-13 are just a view seconds and duration nearly as long as PGC 1!
So the overall duration are about 2.5 hours!
If I check +CC too, this overall duration will rise up dramaticly!
I donīt know why it takes so much time, but I think ripping subtitle manualy by SubRip will take less time than this one.
Do you have any ideas why vobsub need so much time for extract subtitles/+cc ?
Hardware P4 2.4 Ghz 512MB Ram and fast HDDs.
Second run:
Without subtitle/+cc and vobsubPGC creation, Only split by VobID selected.
Overall duration:
25 minutes!
BTW about the green progress beam:
This is for every step new, right?
A new progress beam for full duration would be great :)
New Bug:
Could you use IFOEdit 0.95 for DIF4U?
My version corrupt sometimes, cause 0.94 on system.

As usual, the big intent was to get functionality working first, then work on speed improvements. VobID has long had a history of not working completely correct, so I attempted to get that fixed as well as I could (new detection of duplicate vobids and their sizes, etc).
Vobsubbing takes a while because it goes byte by byte through the file, for complete accuracy.
Although it does take a while, I think you'll find there's not a more accurate utility like this out there in the world!
Oh as for ifoedit, simply replace the ifoedit.exe in the DoItFast4U install directory with whatever version you desire, keeping the filename the exact same. I'll add a newer version to future rlses.
I do plan to do more detection and not vobsub if you demux a duplicate vobid, but that's tricky and I didn't want to delay 1.1.0 by tackling that first.
Just FYI:
To-Do List=
- PGC size threshold (automatically deselect PGCs that are smaller than xxx mb)
- AVS 2.5 support (oooh this one should be a nice bit of fun)
- (possible feature, not sure yet) ability to configure per-PGC instead of VTS. This one could make it a lot more lengthy of a process to configure DIF4U before hitting "Do It!" though :(
- Better detection for when to vobsub and when not to.
- Think of more wacky ideas to make life better for us perfectionists!

quote from me in the other thread:
right just finnished my first rip with, do it fast 4 u, do CCE 4 u and reauthorist. And heres what I got to say:
The main movie of spiderman turned out bad(not terrible though, stilll quite good), too blocky. I don't think there is enough room in 4.3gbs to keep the extras and the main film. oh.. just had a tought, what about resizing the extras to 352x576???? that would really save bitrate, and maybe a bit of temporal smoother at 2,2. we could probably get the extras down to an avg of 1000 and still get them looking great.
As for the extras!! Well ALL the extras were in interlaced format and do cce for you dosn't have an interlaced button so they came out very very bad! However I think we shall find a way around this. Surely it must say in the ifo file or something that the video is interlaced as I think the dvd player needs to know this to play back the file properly.
Ah yes, and
Also about the CCE-no-avs thingy... I will re-rip T2 later today to see if it does do this.
Baker
-----------------------------------------
Well first off I am a bit dissapointed you never replied to this as obviously detecting interlaced material is a big thing to use pal users... And I would like your opinion on re-encoding the extras also.(perhaps I should be bringing the progressive option up with bb woof first though....)
Anyway the real reason I am posting this is to tell you that the AVS from the still frame thingy is called "VTS__04_P02.16~9_1" and has no indictation that it should not be re-encoded.

I didn't respond to your previous posting on purpose, as when I get irritated, it's really better off if I don't post. I'm calmed down a bit now so...
The quality issues show lack of knowledge of how to do things, not something I can control. Users that have been using this tool and our methods know that our results far surpass anything you can do with DVD2One or the like.
So when you say your quality was terrible, that shows that you did something wrong. What? I don't know, but I have an idea. Spiderman is a very complex DVD with a lot of reused vobids. Reauthoring by vobid is the only way to get the correct size/quality from it, as far as I remember.
Surely it must say in the ifo file or something that the video is interlaced as I think the dvd player needs to know this to play back the file properly. Surely based on whose assumption? Do some research yourself, and if you can find a way to detect it, I'll implement it. NO software package to date that I know of can detect PAL interlacing correctly. Not DVD2SVCD, not dvd2avi, NONE.
Well first off I am a bit dissapointed you never replied to this as obviously detecting interlaced material is a big thing to use pal users... And I would like your opinion on re-encoding the extras also.(perhaps I should be bringing the progressive option up with bb woof first though....)

From what I understand, extras look better deinterlaced (let's not start a flame war about this.. I know opinions differ but apparently Baker feels interlaced doesnt look well, and many others feel the same. I myself have no opinion as I do NTSC). I provide this option with the 'fielddeinterlace()' checkbox. Uncheck autodetect and check that, and then demux your extras. See if that gives you better results.
That still frame was one frame? The flag to not cce is attached to the .avs file usually (avs-no.cce). Please attach or email to me and I'll see why it wasn't flagged.

Hey buddie, your tool works perfect. :)
Thatīs all minor things. ;)
About the ToDo:
Maybe an "advanced section" could help.
So everyone who donīt know exactly what he can do could set vobsub all etc. and start īdo itī.
If someone will have more possibilities for faster processing, he can use advanced options like to choose PGCs (the VTS/PGC Tree visible/unvisible with advanced button)
So everyone can choose what he want. :)
About Ifoedit:
OK, I thought there is some code in DIF4U for opening the 0.94 :D
A optical bug:
Could you rename these file:
VTS__01_-81V01-448K-[0ms]-ch6Deutsch.AC3
to
VTS__01_-81-V01-448K-[0ms]-ch6Deutsch.AC3 ?
Itīs better if you have more than one PGC.
Thatīs all for the moment :D

I must admit, I wasnt a fan of this program when it first came out, but once it started using CCE I changed my mind quickly :). Congrats on a great program !.
My idea is to implement templates for the ripping, for instance, one could choose how they want the DVD ripped. Example :
1. Main Movie only
2. Main Movie + Menus
3. Main Movie + All Extras (complete)
And then maybe an advanced options for the templates, so one can simply select streams to strip, and/or Extras to skip.
As for me, I would like to get the Main Movie, with sterams I want, and the Menu :). I am all quality hehe.
Hope this post gives you some ideas on improvement. Anyways, good luck in your programming :D.

Thanks for a great program... and keep up the good work! I feel this is the way to go with reauthoring DVD's the right way (didn't take me long to toss IC and D21)!
Thanks again!

No, DoItFast4U does not include a burning tool. It automates the process of making a DVD backup so you do not have to worry about all the individual steps that you otherwise would have to do.

Thanks for all the support guys. Reminder.. If anyone has one of those 2 items I am looking for on my homepage lying around, I could really use them!
instead of a language it shows this (..)
does this man it doesnt know it or is this a forced sub....or what could someone please explain what it means..... Quite simply, it means 'unknown language'. I figured it was better than 'UK' :D
ok i was doing a movie and i set extras to 5 and main movie to 4 and noticed when the process completed ripping that the cce.txt file was saying all of the pgcs was on 5 pass even the main movie... Not sure what's causing this. I'll fix it in my first beta release though. For now, I think the workaround is to change those boxes to what you want, then save the settings by closing the program. When you open DoItFast4U back up, the settings should be there and will now be used correctly. Sorry about that!
And then maybe an advanced options for the templates, so one can simply select streams to strip, and/or Extras to skip. Ooh not a fan of the butcher! (Buffy lingo on purpose) 'nuff said!

ok for those subs i was telling you about (..) there was like um 20 of them but there wasnt anything in them.......they were empty subs....
one thing i like is thta you incorporatewd the forced sub.....sst script that is cool
the other thing is that doitf4u and docce4u calculate the whole project to be the right size in the end....
i noticed in the guides from doom and tril;ight that they do extras seperately and the movie seperately in scenarist because of the different aspect ratios...
but my question is can you do everyhting in scenarist even the extras and main movie in one go and compile a final project of vob files even if the aspect ratio is different between the extras and main movie....coz when u set up scenarist it ask are you doing a 16.9 film or 4.3 film......
this is one major concern for me....
thankyou
D
Eyes`Only
26th March 2003, 01:38
From what I can tell, that aspect ratio it asks is only for menus.. Scenarist diagnoses all your m2vs and labels them the correct aspect ratio. Yes, you can do multiVTS in Scenarist without issues, I do it all the time.

26th March 2003, 22:03
Right sorry it took so long to post but I have been busy. ANyway About me not getting good quailty, you completely missed the point. In some cases where extras take up a lot of room and the film is action based and bright, it can be necessary to resize the extras to half d1 (352x576/480) as this allows for more compression and the quailty is hardly reduced. I simply requested that a bicubic resize function be added so that we can squeeze the extras a little more, I wasnt saying your program gave bad quailty.
Now thats out of the way lets get on with serious mattters,
quote-From what I understand, extras look better deinterlaced (let's not start a flame war about this.. I know opinions differ but apparently Baker feels interlaced doesnt look well, and many others feel the same. I myself have no opinion as I do NTSC).
Yea lets not, I have never encountered many titles before with interlaced content so spidermans my first. For users with progesive tvs (get it???) interlaced material that has been earlier de-interlaced would look better, however de-interlacing a stream means that when people move their hands fast etc... you get a kind of ghosting effect which would not happen if the stream had not have been de-interlaced, but I think interlacing eats up bitrate so I am going to de-interlace from now on anyhow. UPDATE- while trying to de-interlace I have been unsuccessful in removing the lines totally!! Going to try a few more of dcomb.dll's options and see how I get along.
oh yea and that still frame thingy was 7 frames, I have ripped that t2 dvd over 3 times in the last week!!! Please ask aquabubble if he still has the m2v file as I mailed it to him recently.
Anything I can do to help, just please dont go raving over nothing.

I'm looking into the non-starting issue. As for the subs, they should be the exact same colors as the original when you compile in Scenarist.

and when i finished the film i had some red subc..... and some normal
is there something in ifoedit that does the sub title copy

28th March 2003, 13:03
d4g, have a look at Trilight Uber guide, you will get all the info on how to set up subtitle colors at the beginning of Scenarist and make them your defaults.
(TRilight suggests yellow as subtitle color, I personally prefer white but that's only a matter of taste).
Waldok:cool:

Using the default Scenarist colors, you'll get the exact same colors as your original video used. If you've modified these, you should probably change them back!
I found the bug that was causing DoCCE4U not to start. Now here's the question... release another 'final' version (1.0.0c?) or a beta (1.0.0.1). What would you all prefer?

could you change
VTS__01_-80V01-448K-[0ms]-ch6English.AC3
to
VTS_01_-V01-80-448K-[0ms]-ch6English.AC3 ?
If you list a multiple PGC movie with old filename, it will list every Stream 0x80 in a row.
Like:
...-80-V01...
...-80-V02...
...-80-V03...
But I think it would be better, every stream should list by VobID:
Like:
...-V01-80...
...-V01-81...
...-V01-82...
If you have to search in a folder with 13 PGCs and 4 audiostreams each, thatīs really hell to find the right one ;)

Without further ado, Let the BETA TESTING Begin!
Here's the first in the new line: Version 1.1.0.1
http://doitfast4u.doom9.org/DoItFast4U.v.1.1.0.1.exe
Changes:
 Added PGC Streams to the DVD Structure for a better understanding of the DVD.
 Audio stream list shows <not used> if the audio stream does not in fact exist, and those corresponding streams are greyed..
:scared: Bug fixed where CCE Chapter list was not forced to output with DVD Decrypter 3.1.4.0.
 Filenames for Non-PGC demux (vobid/cellid) are now in the form of VTS__05_V02-81-448K-[-66ms]-ch6English.AC3
 Calc now more accurate for multiple-Main-movie DVDs.
Known issues:
 Due to an inconsistency of the .ifo, many times substream 0x20 is reported when it doesn't in fact EXIST! I have no control over this, both my program and DVD Decrypter show this stream even when it doesn't exist, because the .ifo states it as so. Sorry!

Question about the subtitle:
in "Subtitle streams" StarWarsEP2 shows 6 subtitle. OK
In "DVD Structure" are 12 subtitle.
IfoEdit means 6 subtitle, but 0x2a & 0x2b (the others, too) are "merged" as one.
So whatīs the difference between?

(like the mode in subrip) That would be bad, sometimes a demuxed m2v starts at 00:59:00:00. No no current feature like that exists in vobsub that I know of.
