IfoEditor not remuxing .M2V fromTMPGEnc

Hi, I have a strange problem.
I created a m2v file in TMPGEnc 2.510 and when I want to remux it in Ifoeditor 0.95 it shows a dialog ...
Processing source VTS_01_0.VOB... but in the line: writing destination VOB is no filename, and the dir I told it to create it in, is empty, but my pagefile grows into enormous size. (No matter if I used a Template for TMPGEnc created in IfoEditor or not) When I do the same with the file created in ReMpeg2 it is ok. Please help. Thanx in advance

I have been having huge synch problems with TMpeg and IfoEdit during the Remux.

Well I have tried many things to fix it, and it works now. But I can not say what was THE change that helped it. Among all I deleted my ifoedit.ini in the windows dir, than it worked.

But I think your problem is different. Tell me more details about your procedure of decoding and transcoding the movie.
What I do is: I use DVD decrypter, in Ifoeditor I get rid of all the unnecessary streams, extras and subs, PLUS I create a TMPGEnc tepmplate - but do it this way - click on the button and let it run up to only 2% , then stop it a select the most often frame pattern - usually IBBPBBPBBPBBPBB or something like that. Then I feed it to the TMPGEnc, also the settings in the TMPGEnc are important but thats too much to write about and you should be able to find guides on it around here. in the settings, click on the GOP structure tab and again setting button and load the template you created in IfoEdit... than let it run and remux it into the original VOBs.... let me know whats up.

NTSC or PAL? There are many threads about how this does not work with NTSC.

I'm using NTSC.

The way I have been encoding is just as the Guide that was posted in Doom's Guide for using TMPeg for Transcoding.

I would prefer to use the high quality setting and Auto_CQ (VBR)
All the other settings are just like the guide. (exactly)

I Didn't Stop the TMPEG template after 2%. Also should I restart getting the template or just use what you suggested in the initial 2%. I Really like using this Program. however when I have Problems I just go back to rempeg. It may be slow but its consistant.

Hopefully I don't sound like an idiot. but I am a Stickler for Details.

I Preparing to Purchase a copy of REEL_DVD by Sonic since the Price has dropped. I just waiting to see what sonic is stuffed up there sleeve. they usually come out with another product after a big price reduction.

to tell you the truth you can let the template proccess run all the way, the only difference you get with the method I have suggested is smaller file - which will be processed faster - where the standard GOP structures Ibbpbbp... will be replaced only with the I and all the nonstandard will be written out completely.

To tell you the truth TMPGEnc is my favorite prog. Despite so many settings it is still very simple to use. About the ReMpeg - I have used it for a while and all of the negative aspects that has been talked here about did not come out as such a big disadvantage - the speed of transcoding was comparable with the TMPGEnc and the quality of the output as well. I have tested it on the Goodfellas and both of the DVDs are fine.

I really have no idea what can cause the synch problem, couple days ago I have read an interesting article on Inverse TeleCine - all the things about the changes of framerates for cinemas, then the conversions for PAL and NTSC ...

There is a great prog to get all the info about the movie you want to process it is called Bitrate Viewer - www.tecoltd.com - it actually shows all of the setting you need for the TMPGEnc project setup along with the GOP structure - check it out and let me know .. later...

I added 512 meg to my 2.4 pentium this morning. now running with 1 Gig. Maybe this will help.

Hi stucc,

I don't know if you have resolved your problem with TmpGenc but you can try to uncheck "Directshow multimedia file reader" in "option - Environmental settings". In this way it work with Ifoedit. Bye
