ok, here's a story: ripped DVD using SmartRipper, and don't know how it happened, but I ended up with following files:

15.05.2002 11:33 455.889 vts_02.idx
15.05.2002 11:33 108 vts_02.lst
20.10.2000 05:21 65.536 vts_02_0.ifo
15.05.2002 11:28 1.073.709.056 vts_02_1.vob
15.05.2002 11:30 1.073.709.056 vts_02_2.vob
15.05.2002 11:31 1.073.709.056 vts_02_3.vob
15.05.2002 11:33 952.479.744 vts_02_4.vob

now, when i try to burn a movie using Nero, it says that some files are missing: VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.BUP and VTS_02_0.BUP.

any ideas how to re-create those files ?

thanx much !

Welcome to the forum! I hope you find it useful.

It looks, to me, like you used SmartRipper in movie mode. This will extract Angle 1 of the longest Program Chain -- in other words, only the main movie. You must rip in file mode if you want the entire DVD.

I recommend you look through Doom9's guide pages. Start by clicking on The Basics (http://www.doom9.org/dvd-basics.htm). It's a page with links to 14 different guides to get you started. Then, click on DVD / miniDVD guides (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvdr-guides.htm). There are links to DVD authoring, encoding, and backup in it that you will get good value from.

Please review the forum rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm), particularly Rule 1. You seem to have missed it.

you might want to try ifo edit... i think it is the way to go...

oh and if you just want to copy an existing DVD 1:1 why don't you use DVDdecrypter in iso mode?

steVe

I hate to say it, but there are both IfoEdit guides as well as an IfoEdit forum... :-)
