try renaming the last PDI to .VOB extension and playing it
then you can see where it bombs and try and isolate the problem

There is no "last PDI" to rename to vob as it barely gets into the movie. IC bombs right about the time the Paramount pictures logo displays before movie ever starts.

can you not remove whatever is bombing it?. Is it bombing in the movie or is it bombing during the exras/menu?
what version DVD of titanic is it as my friend has it. His is region 2
gimme the DVD number and I'll check to see if it's the same
can you can work out which part is bombing it?
is it during the analysis or encoding?
how big is the PDI file when it bombs?
give me as much info as possible information so and I can help

Its a Region 1 DVD. It bombs on the movie analysis. The PDI is 35-40 megs in size when it bombs.

rename it and play it
when I said last PDI I assumed you had more than one, tho in effect it is your first and your last ('my everything':D) PDI
region 1 is not an option for me :(
so is it a menu it is processing? when it bombs?
can you take a snapshot of the window just before it bombs?, that would be helpful
cheers

opening credits, it's the dark scene isn't it where the samera is underwater or something?
I ain't got the DVD here unfortunately but I doubt very much that you could do anything anyway apart from removing that scene but then that may upset the chapter structure so isn't really an option
I was hoping it was one of the extras that was bombing it as I did with the Simpsons DVD by removing the offending dark scene as it was not needed and inbetween two extras
sorry but I can't realy help unless I have the DVD and can play with it :(

No. as I stated previously it's where the paramount logo starts.

sorry, my mistake
how long does the logo play for?
I forgot to mention IC crashes but the PDI actually only contains the video upto a few seconds before the crash point
so what is in the following few seconds of video after the end of the PDI video point?
I don't know how far IC looks ahead but this is what it seems to do
hm, I wonder? :D

The movie starts after the paramount logo.

just thought I'd post this
I've tried region 2 of Titanic and it worked OK
it has a 20th Century Fox logo with Home Entertaintment with no sound as VOB ID 1
then the THX Digitally Mastered logo for VOB ID 2
then VOB ID 3 contains the 20th Century Fox logo with spotlights and drumroll then the movie
when that's finished, it's about 7 secs of complete darkness before the movie kicks in
but the thing is it never crashed either

Your guide on removing titles with IfoEdit is great. IC screws up title set removal. I was wondering why a few of my copies didnt work quite right. Ill have to revisit titanic sometime soon and try again. Ill post when I do.

I never stripped anything in this version, I just fed it the complete ripped
maybe Region 1 is setup different and has different content
the one I have has one titleset with 2 titles (PGC's) that have a total of 6 VOB ID's
the 1st title contain's 5 VOB ID's that have the logos/movie in them and the 2nd title is the trailer which is VOB ID 6
if you can remove what's crashing then great but if not you'll have to wait until they update and fix the problem
